About the Dudley-Charlton Education Foundation
• Annual Report • Brochure •
The Dudley-Charlton Education Foundation was incorporated in 2008 as a conduit through which our community can immediately and positively impact our schools. The Foundation provides funding for educational opportunities that would not likely receive money from the school district's budget.
The DCEF is a tax exempt 501(c)(3) organization independent of municipal boards, committees and school organizations. It is governed by a Board of Directors comprised of business, community and parent volunteers. The Board cooperates with, but works independently from, the Dudley-Charlton Regional School District and its school committee. The DCEF is able to move quickly on educational needs and respond with more flexibility to proposals that are not easily addressed by the district.
The DCEF invests in our district school children what public tax dollars and declining state resources do not.
To ensure the highest quality of public education, the DCEF funds innovative educational programs and opportunities that promote instructional excellence through the DCEF Grant Program.
• Grants For Educators •
The DCEF offers educators non-restrictive grants that inspire innovative educational and enrichment programs. In awarding grants, the DCEF works closely with school administrators to fund projects that result in richer and deeper learning experiences and have the potential to impact a large number of students.
• What Do DCEF Grants Support •
DCEF grants are awarded for specialized instructional materials, teaching aids, and other items that can be used to expand the existing school curriculum. DCEF-funded programs enhance rather than duplicate the curriculum. We seek innovative and creative ideas that fall outside the school budget, yet promise to augment curricula in a meaningful way.
• Our Focus Includes •
Disseminating grants to staff for programs that engage students in innovative learning

• Our Mission •
The mission of the Dudley-Charlton Education Foundation, Inc. is to promote continued educational excellence by strengthening community support and by funding programs that encourage innovation and enrichment throughout the district.
• DCEF Honored •
Each year, the Massachusetts Association of School Committees recognizes community members and organizations whose contributions have made a difference in schools.
The award program, established in 2002, generates about 100 nominees from school committees statewide, from which the MASC selects a handful in each of three categories.
The "Outstanding School Partner" award was presented to the Dudley- Charlton Education Foundation March 10, 2010 for its work in raising supplemental funds for instructional programs that otherwise would not exist.
